12/1/2012 - Brayton Wins Friday in Geneva by Racer X

The first leg of the Geneva Supercross took place on Friday night here in Switzerland, and JGR Yamaha’s Justin Brayton ended the evening as the big winner. The American rider won his heat and the main event in dominating fashion over KTM’s Marvin Musquin. In that main event, Brayton used some serious whoop speed to catch and pass early leader Cedric Soubeyras.

It continues a streak here for Brayton. For six-straight years, he's been the winner on the tight, 34-second-per-lap track. Musquin started right behind Brayton and early on, he put some pressure on the Yamaha rider, but once Brayton got into the lead, he slowly pulled away. Soubeyras, who just a couple of weeks ago gave some American racers fits in Bercy, ended up an uncontested third on the night after grabbing the early lead.

There was also a women’s main event with Megan Rutledge taking the win over American Vicki Golden.

Racing continues tonight.
