3/8/2016 - Team BTO Sports-KTM-WPS Daytona SX Race Report

Camarillo, CA (Mar.7, 2016) –  Team BTO Sport-KTM-WPS visited the sunshine state of Florida as round nine of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross series visited the famed Daytona International Speedway for  the  Daytona Supercross. Team BTO Sports riders Justin Brayton and Davi Millsaps came in prepared and ready to attack the unique Daytona track.

Justin Brayton made his way to the main event through solid ride in the semi. Using the power of his FMF Racing exhaust system, he launched out of the gate and got up front early, holding tough to finish 2nd and secure a spot in the main. Brayton would take that fighting spirit to the main event, where he overcame a midpack start and rode aggressively through the field. He would use the exceptional traction of the Pirelli MX tires to battle through the pack and at the checkered flag finish the night in 9th place. After nine rounds, Brayton moves up to 8th place in Championship points.

“Overall it was a good night” Brayton said. “While my starts were not there tonight, my bike was awesome and allowed me to work my way inside the top ten. I’ll regroup this week and come back strong in Toronto.”

Davi Millsaps started off strong, as he posted the 6th fastest time of the day. He made the main through an aggressive ride in his heat race, where he would finish 3rd. Feeling confident, Millsaps continued to attack the track in the main event, as he used his WP Factory Services suspension to keep control and battled deep inside the top ten for the whole race. He would be running a solid 7th place until going down in the whoops on the last lap, ending his night and as a result would suffer broken ribs and a bruised lung.

Team rider Andrew Short, who was injured during the Atlanta Supercross, is doing well and continues to heal up back home in Texas.
